| The LaGrange County Lakes Council formed in June 2002. In July, represented by Jack Dold,
several individuals
enlisted Wood-Land-Lakes' help in their ongoing organizational process to assist local lake
residents. The top five concerns were water/sewer problems, stacking
(anti-funneling of 2nd and 3rd tier cottages),
nuisance weeds and waterfowl, agricultural run-off and build up, and speed
limits on roads around the lakes. A task force formed to address specific
issues with consultants working on the LaGrange County Master Plan. The
Lakes Council achieved authorization as a non-profit organization in
November 2002. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve the
quality of the lakes and watershed of LaGrange County. In August
2003, they completed the election of their Officers and Board of
Directors. In 2004, Jack Dold was elected to serve as its new
President.
In April 2006, the Lakes Council sponsored a special workshop devoted to looking
at Canada Goose issues. Check out the
LCLC web site for
more details on the organization and more current activities. Wood-Land-Lakes continues to help
the group build a foundation for success. |
